Since 2006 Markus is responsible for the conduction of more than 100 strategic user & customer experience projects on a national and international level. In his work he focuses not only on Strategic User & Customer Experience Management but also on User-centred Innovation and User Satisfaction Monitoring.

Expertise & Business Focus

Markus studied Business Administration at the Economic University of Vienna with a focus on Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Marketing and Tourism & Leisure. For his master thesis he addressed the topic of Lead User and user generated Innovation.

With his deep experience in User-centred, User Innovation and Customer Experience methodologies like Personas, Design Thinking Workshops and Customer Journeys, he successfully worked on various large scale (inter)national projects in the area of Usability, User & Customer Experience in Austria, Germany, England, France, Romania or the United States, during the last 10 years, like: A1 Telekom Austria, bwin partygaming, DELL, European Patent Office, Generali, UniCredit Group or Telefonica.

Markus is guest lecturer at different universities (e.g. University of Vienna, Vienna University of Economics and Business) and publishes regularly in User Experience and Usability journals and papers. He also founded the Experience-Partners, an international network of Customer Experience Practitioners, and also functions as the spokesperson of the Experience-Partner network.

SHOTPROS, 2019 – 2022: SHOTPROS is an EU funded research project that aims to improve the “decision – making and action process” of European police officers in stressful and high – risk situations enhanced by a virtual reality training program.

Privacy & Us, 2016 – 2019: The Privacy & Usability (Privacy & Us) EU Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network will fund 13 PhD studentships with a duration of 36 months.

LAW-TRAIN, 2015 – 2018: LAW-TRAIN is a project funded by the EU Commission, which is supposed to be used for intercultural Interrogation Trainings of European Security Authorities to fight international drug crime.

ECT, 2013 – 2016: Conception and Development of an Experience Crowd Sourcing Tool (Open Innovation)

FACTS, 2013 – 2015: Investigating and developing a multi-component vision system that enables pervasive mapping of human attention. The key contribution is a methodology that enables full 3D recovery of the gaze pointer, human view frustum and associated human centered measurements directly into an automatically computed 3D model.
