MMK digital: Usability in Focus

Mayr-Melnhof Karton (MMK) has launched in an iterative process an exemplary online platform based on the Human-Centred-Design-Approach. The customer in focus during the development was not only a slogan, but proved to be actively used in the project.

MMK sets standards in the cartonboard-industry in the B2B area with their new sales- and service-channel (MMK digital – buy board online). Well-known B2C systems like amazon were used as examples to develop this innovative platform. The main objective Mayr-Melnhof Karton always had in mind, was Usability.

To sucessfully transfer this goal, MMK got USECON on board. The iterative process, which lasted more than 18 months, always had the customers and clients involved in the development.

In the development of MMK digital, the early involvement of various stakeholder in the prodect development was crucial. Mayr-Melnhof Karton has stick to the process of human-centred design in the most exemplary way – “the customer in focus” was not only a hollow phrase, but was actively used.
