Quality Assessments
At various points in the development process, you have to assess
the quality of your system or product. The developing/design team
cannot judge the system objectively, because they may already know
it by heart. To ensure the quality, you need valid investigations
and feedback on your products/systems usability from an independent,
impartial third party.
Depending on how far your system or product has already evolved,
there are various methods and techniques to assess its usability.
The sooner you take quality-assurance measures, the sooner you can
eliminate problems which affect the usability of the system - and
save time and resources.
The quality of a system (user interface) depends on various aspects,
which can be assessed seperatly or jointly. The assessments can
be conducted user-based (empirical testing) or expert-based or both.
